The Comet is actually a 'series' of motors - plain, geared with a single and with twin shafts. Of more robust design than the Star it is surprisingly less powerful, but introduces the paxolin plus spacers design which is typical of the larger motors. For this reason I suspect that it was designed by W N Baker, who took over after Taylor left the company.
